That's right. We don't get our commission until sellers sell their home and receive their proceeds. It can be a few months. But it can be a few years. And if something happens in between, our income is actually negative since we need to spend money for marketing, subscription to MLS, various associations of realtors, access to key boxes realtors use.
It's a long journey. There are a few not so good agents out there but many work really hard to cross the finish line. So, please don't think that realtors make so much money and their work are so easy.
